Saniderm/Tegaderm:

Saniderm should be worn on your body for five days. During those days please refrain from working out/excessively sweating & exposure to sunlight. You can shower normally with the bandage on. After the five days have passed slowly peel off the bandage under running water. Do not pull the bandage off fast like a bandaid. Do it slowly to prevent damage to the skin. If during the healing process you see blisters forming around the edges of the bandage or if you form a rash please remove the bandage right away. This is an allergic reaction to the adhesive. If it persists and you develop a fever please reach out to a medical professional. Once the bandage is off keep the tattoo clean with antibacterial soap. Making sure to wash the tattoo a few times a day and patting it dry with a towel. You may then use an unscented lotion like lubriderm to moisturize the skin. Please use a very thin layer being sure not to smother the tattoo. Do this for the next week and a half or until your tattoo no longer appears shiny.

Healing Without Saniderm:

If you are unable to use saniderm due to adhesive allergies please follow these instructions. Within an hour please remove the plastic wrap on your tattoo. Gently clean the area with antibacterial soap and warm water. Do not use anything abrasive on your skin. Pat dry and apply a very small layer of A&D ointment to the skin. Repeat this process a few times a day when feeling dry. Be sure to do these steps for the next week. Once the week has passed you will continue to wash a few times a day with antibacterial soap but switch to unscented lotion. Be sure not to smother the skin and again use a very small layer. Continue this process until your skin appears to be fully healed and no longer shiny.
